Can a used formal shoe be brought back?
More than any other category, yes. Leather dress shoes are built to be maintained: creasing across the vamp is expected and cosmetic, scuffs polish out, and a tired finish responds to conditioning. A worn pair of good shoes is often a better buy than a cheap new pair.
The question that decides it is the sole. A welted shoe — where you can see stitching running around the edge of the sole — can be resoled by any cobbler in Pakistan, so the shoe outlives several soles. A cemented sole, glued rather than stitched, cannot. Also look at the heel block: worn to a visible angle is a cheap fix, but worn into the leather above it is not.

Sizing a formal shoe
Most pairs sit at EU 43, EU 42, EU 44. A formal last is narrower and longer than a trainer's, so your trainer size is a poor guide — work from a foot measurement instead, using the chart and calculator. Brands still differ at the same EU marking.
Getting it delivered
