What to look for in used volleyball shoes
Volleyball is jumping and lateral movement on a clean indoor floor, so the sole rarely abrades — it glazes. A gum sole that has gone shiny and hard has lost the tack that grips the court, even though it looks almost unused.
The other consideration is the midsole, which absorbs a great many landings over a season. Compression there is invisible in photographs, so weigh the price against how much use the listing describes rather than how the shoe looks.
What the grades mean
Four grades, no overlap between the bands:
- Excellent — 80–89%, 4 pairs

Getting the fit right
You will find the most choice at EU 41, EU 40.5, EU 42.5. To work out your number, the size calculator converts EU, UK, PK, USA and foot length. Bear in mind that one EU marking means different UK numbers depending on the maker — the differences are set out here.
